The World Of Jadeey

It's been a pretty bloody good day. I haven't done a lot and that's what makes it so great.

I started playing Grand Theft Auto IV today. I've owned it for a while without getting around to playing it. Turns out it's pretty great. The freedom compared to other games is huge. So far all I've done is drive around the city and make friends. In most games you are thrust straight into missions, but with this game you are free to roam as you like and only pick up missions when you feel like it.

The only thing making me sad about the game so far is that I can't find any really good cars to drive. In GTA 3 I found a shop you could break into and steal a gorgeous, fast car. So far I haven't found anything like that in GTA IV so i've been driving around in shitty old cars. What's the point in playing a game where you can steal cars if the only ones you can find are pieces of shit?

hehehehe that reminds me of Adam Sandler's song Piece of Shit Car. God I loved that song when I was a teenager.

Bye bye DVD collection

Friday, June 12, 2009
Over the last few days i've been thinking a lot about selling my DVDs. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I'm going to do it.

Why? Well, for starters I could actually really use the money. I'm doing okay in the money department but I definitely don't have as much as I'd like. A little extra cash certainly wouldn't go astray. Not to mention I never watch most of them so it's really just dead weight. Might as well purge it now while I still have hope of getting some money for them. With blu-ray taking off it wouldn't surprise me if it's not long before DVDs head the same way videos did.

I'll also be getting rid of my xbox games, ps2 games, my ps2 and one of my xboxes. All in all I'm going to be having quite a few trade-me listings going on in the next little while!

Just got home from work

Saturday, December 13, 2008
Geek that I am, I really wanted to go and watch Parliament sitting today. It's not often you'd get to see them sitting on a Saturday! Instead I had to work... It wasn't so bad.

I just realised today that I haven't played my xbox360 since before I left for Hamilton. It has been over a week! See - to anyone who claimed I was addicted, clearly I'm not.

Not a lot else to say really. I think it's bedtime.

Nervous habits

Saturday, September 06, 2008
When I was studying psyc back at uni I really loved learning about kinesics. For those of you who don't know what kinesics is, it's the study of body language.

Nervous habits are always very interesting. I like to watch people and pick up their nervous habits, particularly guest speakers in class. I know I have my own nervous habits - and it always annoys me when I find myself doing one of them.

My most common is to turn my watch around my wrist. It's quite loose so can be turned all the way around. When i'm nervous I find myself spinning it. A newer nervous habit of is to pull my JD bracelet off and twirl it around my finger. (If you don't know what my JD braclet is you need to watch the musical episodes of Scrubs. Me and Ingrid have Turk and JD bracelets, just like in the song.) These are such embarrassing nervous habits because they are so damn obvious. If you're going to have a nervous habit it's better if it's something other people can't pick up as a nervous habit. But at least it's not a twitch.

Awesome! A friend just dropped off 2 xbox games he'd borrowed and has lent me 7 games. I'm going to be playing for a while! :D

Nothing in particular

Thursday, September 04, 2008
I have decided that the first thing I am going to buy myself when I finish my course and get a job is an Xbox 360. I'm not sure I can live the rest of my life never playing Fable 2... And it is only coming out on the 360.

I'm beginning to get really excited about the end of my course. I'm really enjoying it, but MAN will it be good to have money again. I'm very tired of not buying anything non-essential. I'll probably splurge for the first few weeks before I start saving again. It's going to be AWESOME! Of course, this all relies on me finding a job relatively quickly. But I'm staying positive that I will.

Have you all been to Edulection and voted in the poll? If you aren't planning to vote Labour don't bother - I don't want you to vote. As long as you are voting Labour then have at it! :D

I'm so white and nerdy

Friday, October 13, 2006
I really am. Let's see, I play video games, I spend far too much time online and I obsessively watch movies. Oh. And I have a blog. 'nuff said.

Although - in general I hate science fiction and don't know a huge amount about computers so that may exempt me somewhat.

I'm currently watching Forrest Gump for about the millionth time. I love it, Tom Hanks is so brilliant in it and the soundtrack is awesome. I'm sure anyone that knows SpaceMonkey knows that it was her pick. For those of you who don't know her - she plans to marry Tom Hanks some day which will be neat really cos it means she will be my mother-in-law since I'm marrying Colin Hanks. Of course, she's 3 years younger than me so calling her mum will be funny.

I don't really know why I'm writing in here. I have nothing to say but I feel like writing. For her birthday I bought SpaceMonkey Tom Hanks on Saturday Night Live. It's HILARIOUS!

There is a really funny skit where they are at a nude beach. Jon Lovitz plays a new guy who apparently has a small penis. All they do the entire time is talk about their penises. Then they sing a song about penises.

It goes a little something like this. "I once had a penis sing to me and when it sung to me it was a penis song. Penis penis penis penis penis. Penis penis all day long" It's kinda dumb when it's just written. I tried to find it on youtube but couldn't so too bad for you.

Someone pointed out to me the other day that, because I watch so many films, I should use this blog to make dvd recommendations. The trouble is - I'm so bloody crap at remembering the names of films that I won't be able to.

However, here are two films I would suggest to anyone and everyone:

1/ Rushmore If I was forced at gunpoint to pick my favourite film this is what I would say. The ending gives me goosebumps everytime I see it. It is, in fact, one of the most perfect moment of cinema ever I reckon.

and

2/ Dancer in the Dark This is a must for any Bjork fan as well as any film fan. (and can I just show off for a moment that I saw Bjork in concert when I was 14. How cool am I!)

I'll do my best to come up with some others over the next little while.

Ever since you walked away

I've lived my life in disaray

Wow it's been ages since I posted anything!

Nothing much has happened in my life. I've gone to work, I've experienced not going to uni which is pretty weird for me. That's about it really.

Oh and my blog on another site got wiped cos their hard drive crashed and none of the data could be recovered. I was pretty gutted cos that was the really personal one which detailed a couple of huge events in my life for the past few years. I've got some of it on my computer but most of it was lost.

The 48 hour film comp is coming up soon. I'm pretty excited. I'm not having my own team this year cos I've got the chance to be a runner in one of my old tutor's teams. This means it'll be a good team that actually has a shot at winning, or at least making it to the finals. I like the sound of that!

What else is there to say? After so long away I should have heaps to write about but unfortunately I don't.

I injured my arm last week from playing too much Xbox. That was pretty funny, I bought a new game and got totally addicted so spent the whole weekend playing it. It had been a long time since I had touched the Xbox so my poor arms weren't used to it (neither were my thumbs - they also ended up pretty bruised!)

Ok I might give up trying to write something insightful. I only ended up here because I was chatting online to the boy and needed something to do in the other window. Well really that should be the ex boy. I don't think he's ever going to be the boy again really. But anyway I'll write better when I've actually got something to say!
